Castle Hill Heritage Skills CIC is a not-for-profit organisation based in Dorset, UK established in September 2024.
Our mission is to promote and preserve heritage crafts and skills through educational experiences, living history events and weekend workshops.
We work with community groups and education institutions using historically accurate methods and materials.
Our events take place in a range of outdoor and indoor venues including museums, schools, living history festivals, village halls and experimental archaeology centres.
Castle Hill Heritage Skills CIC directors have a wide range of skills and knowledge and can be hired for tuition and consultancy.
As a Community Interest Company all profit after expenses is directed towards training and resources for Castle Hill Heritage Skills CIC and for the ongoing maintenance and building work at the Ancient Technology Centre in Dorset to ensure their fantastic education, events and spaces for hire can continue for generations to come.
Collectively our directors have over 70 years experience of working in education and heritage.
Lizzie is a writer, director,
storyteller and has worked as a producer in the film industry.
She has an MA in creative
writing for children and regularly writes for publications.
Lizzie is a storyteller in a range of venues and leads story walks to tell tales of the landscape and heritage where she lives in the South West.
Jenny has 25 years experience
of teaching young people in a range of educational settings.
As a reenactor she has created her own business
making Saxon and Viking
clothes and weaving, as well as teaching heritage textile skills at different sites around the UK.
She works part time at
the Ancient Technology Centre in Dorset.
Nada has worked in
prehistoric skills since
gaining her PhD
specialising in Flint
Knapping and an MA in
Experimental Archaeology.
She has consulted for archaeology students and television programmes.
